Horses at Rainbow's End

What a beautiful day to head out and see some horses and meet the ladies at their Sunday gathering. These are a few candid shots from the day. It was sunny and warm which is a great way to hear everyone's stories.

This is Chocco (think chocolate chip) and Karen. This is a really pretty horse and he was checking out the telephoto lens in this shot -- which is why his head seems SO big.
This was like a combination mini-clinic and commune with the animals. A very pleasant day and seems like a great idea for all the participants.
A couple more shots of the same mare -- this will help train your eye to which part of the stride looks "right" when you practice your photos.
Full side shot of the mare that shows her brand from earlier days in Iowa.
This is Indy, a dog that was rehomed after Hurricane Katrina.
Oh how I love the senior citizens! Looked like a peek-a-boo ear game and I thought that was fun.

Indy trying to grab flies -- she was successful several times.
I thought this was a fun image, and there may even be a fly on Indy's nose in this one.
Love the dappled lighting and the relaxed look in this shot.
On the move -- these is a sight hound after all.
Dogs and people relaxing in the shade -- everyone seems to be enjoying their outing.
Like the expressions in this one.
Caught off guard while walking around the edge of the barn -- still looking good though.
This is Hank sitting ringside and having good conversations with the other ladies.
 Great for relaxing and socializing.
Frosty getting his daily exercise. He also has a brand -- if you know what it is, please let me know.
This was a really calm and polite horse -- loved that!
Close up of the brand. If you know where it is from, let me know and we can solve that mystery!
